Entry of dengue virus serotypes and their geographic distribution in Brazilian federative units: a systematic review

Objective: To describe the entry of Dengue virus (DENV) serotypes in Brazil and its federative units. Methods: A systematic review studies published between 1980 2018 databases gray literature was performed using descriptors related to years DENV serotypes. Additionally, experts official sources information (Brazilian Ministry Health) were consulted. Results: From 100 publications selected for review, 26 addressed North region country, 33 Northeast, 24 Southeast, 14 Central-West, five South. DENV-1 DENV-4 introduced 1981. DENV-2 Southeast 1990. DENV-3 1999. Conclusion: The rapid expansion dengue throughout Brazilian territory verified from second half 1980s, with gradual four serotypes, which resulted emergence epidemics arbovirus, are currently country.
